My involvement with photography has been long and, I think, pretty exciting. I have been a working photographer earning my living with different cameras for over 30 years and have been fortunate enough to been given awards for some of my work.
The study of photography and sharing that knowledge with others has always been important to me, and to that end I have taught photography at several different schools, lectured on photography for many organizations and currently write a weekly newspaper photography column solely for those interested in digital technology.
Although my experience with photography began at a time ruled by darkened rooms and containers filled with chemicals, I have embraced today’s technology with its abundance of options and amazing control.
I approach photography looking for new and interesting ways to visually discuss the subjects I select.

thanks for your recent “like” on my post. I enjoyed reading several of your post which have some good information on photography. I found the one on photography on a foggy day very timely since I was looking at fog tutorials this morning. We had some heavy fog and I was wondering what to do to set up my camera for the best shots.
I was fortunate to find your blog filled with great photography that is certainly worth viewing. I think I need to spend more time. I am really pleased to be in contact.

I liked your perspective and thought the changing many images to brown or sepia in post production was a good Idea.
My critique was the lack of sharpness in the images.
I just assumed you were using a point and shoot camera at the time, that didn’t allow as much control as a DSLR and better quality wide angle lens.

As to your question Photography softly, I hadn’t intended to be a photographer, but along with my course of studies I was talked into taking a photography class. I was already taking a lot of art classes and thought it might be fun. So I proudly will declare that I am not a self taught photographer.
I was also working as a part time teacher and took pictures of our projects. That turned into a regular thing for my employers and I was offered a job as photographer for the Office of alternative Education.
Thats a very short version.were it started.
I also taught photography for about 18 years at a University.
And managed a Camera store.
Now retired, I have a small used photo equipment store that I open three days a week.

I don’t know about being blessed or the fact that I earned a living as a photographer being a blessing. However, I do know that I went to school to learn about photography and took lots and lots of classes.
